Description
This item originates from the infamous collection of Jack Boyle, Concert Promoter, owner of The Cellar Door where Neil Young & Miles Davis both recorded albums “LIVE.” “Jack was one of the original powerhouse architects of the concert industry”. Boyle died in 2017.
Jack turned Washington’s Cellar Door music club into a venue that hosted the likes of John Denver, Muddy Watters to Joni Mitchell and he went on to build a lucrative production and promotion empire that booked hundreds of acts across the country. He also built many concert venues and was based for many years in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Boyle was also a 2018 Florida Music Awards Hall of Fame inductee. In 2005, Billboard honored Boyle with the Legend of Live award.
Cellar Door Productions, named for Mr. Boyle’s flagship venue, produced more than 500 events each year and reportedly grossed up to $100 million annually, booking acts such as The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Pink Floyd, the Dave Matthews Band, U2, and the Who, as well as overseeing high-profile events including Fourth of July concerts on the Mall and entertainment for President Ronald Reagan’s second inauguration.
Presented is an antique 1853 30 Cal. 4 Barrell Derringer, the pin has been removed and is not part of the sale. As a gun alone, it is a collectible relic. But there is more to the history of this firearm.  The legend of how Boyle obtained this Derringer must follow the gun. This Derringer was won in a poker game by Mr. Boyle from Johnny Cash. WOW!Â
Engraved on the side of the Sharps 4 Barrel Deringer 30 Cal. derringer (C. Sharps Patent Jan 25 15 1853). Christian Sharps (January 2, 1810 – March 12, 1874) was the inventor of the Sharps Four Barrel Derringer. As nouns, the difference between derringer and handgun is that derringer is a type of very small, concealable pistol with one or two barrels, but without any loading system or magazine while a handgun is a small, hand-held gun with a relatively short barrel. This derringer comes in .22, .30, and .32 rimfire, and their four barrels slide forward to load and unload. The 30 calibers must have had some kick squeezing off four 30 Caliber rounds at the same time, not to mention a very tinny pistol grip.
