Armando Capiro Game-Worn Jersey Signed Cuba – COA 100% Authentic Team
Out of stock
Armando Capiró was called “perhaps the most colorful Cuban batsman” of the 1960s and 1970s by Peter Bjarkman, a Cuban baseball historian. Armando played for the Cuban national team in twelve different tournaments, helping them win a Gold Medal each time – in seven of the events, he led in at least one department. He is the brother of José Capiró. In 14 seasons in Cuba, Capiró hit .298/.384/.492 with 162 home runs.
Presented is an Armando Capiro game worn Cuba jersey from his time with the Cuban National Team in the 1960s-70s. It is a vest-style flannel with buttons intact and tagging in the collar that has since faded. The Cuba logo presents across the chest brightly in the national colors red, white and blue. The jersey has wear throughout with a few non-detrimental holes in the front/back and a distressed logo. The verso also exhibits some distress on the red, white and blue identifiers that were sewn-on – “A. CAPIRO – 9”. The front was autographed by legendary Baseball Hall of Famer, Orlando Cepeda in blue felt tip. Cepeda was a fan of Cuban baseball from a young age and perhaps was aiding the team in some capacity.
