Phyllis Diller will always be remembered as one of the funniest comedians in Hollywood. She broke into show business when she was 34 years old. Her stand-up appearance at the Purple Onion Club in San Francisco got thing rolling for her. Her big break came after Bob Hope saw her in a nightclub. Hope gave her roles in three films and 21 TV appearances on his show.
What we have here is a gorgeous costume jewelry bracelet featuring purple and turquoise flowers. It measures about 4″ tall and 3″ wide. This originated from Susan Stafford, the original Wheel Of Fortune game show lady. It was given to her as a thank you gift by Diller after she drove her home from a charity cancer event.
Authentication: Susan Stafford Provenance Book.
Susan Stafford wrote a message in the book for provenance. It reads:
“Phyllis was under the weather at the event for cancer. So I took her home and she gave me this piece of jewelry. Wow! It’s Beautiful!! – Susan Stafford” — Feb 19. 2017
