Awesome 1974 Oakland A’s World Championship Ring.

SKU: 18137 Category:

Tremendous historic piece of championship jewelry from the estate of scout Lew Krausse, who, when awarded this coveted A’s “three-peat” ring, had served the storied franchise longer than any active member of the organization. Called up by Mack’s Athletics in late 1931, the 20-year-old Krausse was a pitching phenom, twirling a four-hitter in his first outing. Called up again late in 1932, he won four in a row with a shut-out, then blew his arm out a week later and never pitched again. He stayed with the club as a coach and head scout for the next 52 years, signing many stars (including his son, flamethrower Lew Krausse Jr., one of the first “bonus babies” of the ’60’s). This is a very special Series ring awarded to players and key personnel who were onboard for all three 1970’s World Series championships (1972-73-74). Crafted by Josten’s in 14k gold, “WORLD CHAMPIONS” stands in relief around the perimeter of the face and its cluster of nine simulated diamonds. The left shank displays the classic A’s cloverleaf, raised and engraved with “72, 73, 74” as well as “S S S” (Scout) at the tapered end. The right shank features raised “Oakland” above the A’s team logo, with “Krausse” below. It’s large and heavy – size 12-1/2 – and stamped “14K” and “Jostens” in the band. A magnificent championship ring trumpeting that great dynasty; a colorfully independent cast of characters and Hall of Famers who set the era’s standard of excellence while defining and dominating it. A rarely offered specie, this aesthetic gem displays only light wear and is in fine original condition.

Note: Independent Jeweler’s Appraisal Certificate values this ring at $1395.00. This figure only reflects the current replacement value of the intrinsic materials used to produce it, NOT its historic or collectable significance or the premium attached to such factors.
