Paul Bear Bryant Worn Coach Shirt Coaching Alabama Crimson Tide From Equipment Manager 100% Authentic Team
Out of stock
This Paul Bear Bryant worn Coaches shirt comes directly from the former Alabama Equipment Manager, this shirt was gifted to the Mississippi Equipment manager in the 1980s. Before one of the games in the 1980s, the MISS equipment manager asked the BAMA equipment manager for one of Bear Bryant’s shirts. Graciously the favor was granted. The Former Mississippi equipment manager has kept this shirt in his collection since the 1980s.
Digging through the archives we were able to match the style of FONT on the front of the shirt with other era photographs. Seen in the photo style match of the Alabama Staffer, is the exact red collared shirt with same font which has been screen printed on the left side of the chest. Notably, the regular “BAMA STAFF” does not have the individual’s name embroidered on it, but certainly, it is appropriate that the COACH would have his name “BEAR” embroidered above the “BAMA STAFF” to denote his special shirt.
The red two button collared shirt is made by Russell Athletic and is a size “L”. The red polo-style shirt shows tons of wear throughout the collar, the size tag, and the armpits. This shirt was ONLY worn on the practice field as Bear Bryant would wear suits on game day.
Bryant returned to his alma mater in 1958 as head football coach and athletic director, his five wins that year surpassing the team’s output from the previous three seasons. Pacing the sidelines in his trademark houndstooth hat, he established the Crimson Tide as college football’s team to beat over the following decade, winning the national championship in 1961, ’64 and ’65.
When the program began to sputter late in the decade, Bryant updated his offensive system and recruited the school’s first black players. The result was a return to dominance, with the Tide winning the national championship in 1973, ’78 and ’79.
Bryant wrapped up his legendary career in December 1982 with a then-college football-record 323 victories. Along with his record-tying six national titles, he won 15 conference championships and was named the College Football Coach of the Year three times.
Yes! It’s possible for you to own a huge part of the Crimson Tide history and Paul Bear Bryant, one of the greatest coaches in football history.
