Billy Martin Yankees Game Jacket, Originally Purchased From Estate Sale Auction

Billy Martin was a hero for working men everywhere. He didn’t have the looks or size of Mantle and wasn’t as gifted as DiMaggio. Martin survived in the Major Leagues and beyond with grit. This Yankees jacket was originally purchased from the Billy Martin Estate Sale held by Phillip Weiss Auctions. We assume Martin donned this jacket at some point in his life. A Wilson Prestige Teams tag is affixed in the collar. “1” is written in vintage black felt tip although it has faded over time. Suspended off the Wilson tag is a size “42” flag designator. Yankee blue and white braiding surround the collar and both sleeve ends. The Yankees famous interlocking insignia is proudly displayed on the front left breast. A Yankee team patch is sewn on the left sleeve. The original letter from Phillip Weiss Auctions will accompany this grand jacket.
