1969-72 Game-Worn Ohio State Jersey Durene RARE – COA BAS & 100% Authentic Team – send back

On January 23, 1972, with 36 seconds left in the game that pits the home team Minnesota Golden Gophers against the Ohio Buckeyes, an ugly brawl ensues when Minnesota’s Corky Taylor knees Ohio’s Luke Witte in the groin.

Seen in this video is the exact style match of the gorgeous Durene jersey offered here. Blood and staining appears on the front of the jersey.  It is possible it was used and worn in this infamous game.  This is a game-worn red durene AWAY Ohio State Basketball jersey.  This was worn by Player #24.  We have photos of a Black player #24 in the 1972 program.  We believe it to be worn by this player, however, were unsuccessful in obtaining his name.

The jersey has the “OHIO STATE” sewn on in double tackle twill white on black with the player #24 in between the OHIO STATE.  The gusset seams are black/red/white.  The arms and collar are also trimmed with the same white black striping.  An oversize “24” is sewn on the back of the jersey.

The red durene style basketball jersey has a crotch piece that was custom cut and tucked and sewn under the tail.  The tagging is present.  Tagging is sewin into the underneath part of the tail “Rawling 42 Made in the USA”  The wash tag is also sewn on below adjacent to the Rawlings tag.  There is also another year tag that has been worn down due to washing.  Tons of wear is distributed on the gamer from multi year and multi game use.

This jersey is super rare, and it is difficult to find anything out on the market from this era.  There is nothing to found from the 1972 era, from Ohio state from this infamous fight game. This is a historic jersey and will enhance any basketball collection.

Key note player and coach Bobby Knight has signed this gem of a gamer on the front of the jersey in black sharpie.
