Brett Butler Game-Used, Signed Mitt

Brett Butler was one of those pesky hitters who never seemed to go away and was a chore to get out. One of the game’s most cerebral players, Butler lasted 17 seasons in the big leagues. This 1992-993 Louisville Slugger 125 Professional Series tan glove was used by the lefty during one of his better statistical seasons. The model 125-2P 13” mitt shows light to moderate use for the outfield position. Of particular note is that “13” has been markered out of the glove. MLB began to crack down on players using bigger gloves near this time so Butler tried to avoid the heat by markering out the visible identifier. An interesting modification made to a remarkable piece of game-used gear. “Brett Butler” is embroidered on the back thumb in red thread and signed in black felt tip (“10”) directly below the embroidery.
