Brooks Robinson Signed Golden Glove Award

Each year, the Major Leagues’ top fielders are honored with the Rawlings Gold Glove Award. Brooks Robinson owns a room full as he won 16 of them over his 22-year career. This particular Rawlings gold glove is the same as that placed on the prestigious awards which are given to baseball’s finest fielders. The glove, made with gold LeMay leather, measures 12″ and features Rawlings’ classic XFG-1 pattern. The fastback model features a basket web.

As collectors know, if this Gold Glove was mounted to its custom wooden base, it would be worth tens of thousands of dollars. While this model was never presented to Brooks Robinson, it’s still quite rare and would be a major element in any equipment fanatic’s collection. The glove has been signed twice (pocket and back of thumb) by the Hall of Fame thirdbaseman. Both signatures rate “8” in quality. According to expert Denny Esken, the glove appears to have been manufactured about 1975 and remains in NM/MT condition.
