Out of stock
Before his untimely death in February 1959, Buddy Holly became a jukebox favorite in both the U.S. and Great Britain. In the three-year period leading to his demise, he recorded over twenty singles – five of which scaled to the chart’s top-ten. Offered is a rare peek into his childhood. It is a piece of paper detached from a notebook page and it features science homework. The work was handwritten by Holly in graphite pencil and in clear cursive writing. It was signed as an attribution identifier at the top of the page in pencil by Holly “9-10”.
Of note, it’s the rare original spelling as “Holley”. When they published produced his first album, they misspelled his last name to “HOLLY” So when his came out, he ended up keeping this version of his name and changed it legally.
The page itself has a central fold and several creases throughout. We hope the test that followed was a success for the young Holly. His career certainly was.
