Description
Charlie Musselwhite is an American electric blues harmonica player and bandleader, one of the white bluesmen who came to prominence in the early 1960s, along with Mike Bloomfield and Paul Butterfield. He has often been identified as a “white bluesman”. Musselwhite was reportedly the inspiration for Elwood Blues; the character played by Dan Aykroyd in the 1980 film, The Blues Brothers.
The three named artists Harvey Mandel, Barry Goldberg and Charlie Musselwhite in the album Blues From Chicago should be known by anyone with a knowledge of 1960s and ’70s blues rock in America. These three were top-rated session musicians and each also had their own solo careers at points. These recordings hail from the mid 60s to early 70s. Even with notable musicians, it doesn’t sound all that different from small club blues rock cover bands of England and America during this period.
Presented is a album of Blues From Chicago. The jacket was autographed by Charlie Musselwhite in blue felt tip (“9″). The album along with the signed jacket was placed nicely in a custom display which measures 19″ x 25”.
