Chris Dundee – A Pair of Home Furnishings
Out of stock
Dedicated promoter, Chris, didn’t spend every waking hour in the 5th St. Gym. In fact, he had a private residence – one that was distinguished by these two unique pieces. The first is the welcome shingle cordially displayed outside his home for public view. Obviously, it was custom-crafted for him – hand-painted with figural boxing gloves illustrated in relief. We imagine that it was mounted in an area protected from the elements (probably on the front porch) as it remains in Excellent condition. Measuring roughly 12″ x 21″ (and somewhat shallow in depth), this shingle was made in a light-weight wood. If welcomed inside, the guest may well have noticed the second delight offered here. It’s a sterling silver serving tray that was richly engraved, “Homage to the Immortal Promoter … Chris Dundee … World Boxing Council.” This is an outstanding piece – both in its unique being and in its substance. With its solid handles and impressively ornate perimeter, the tray measures about 20-1/2″ x 12-1/2″. The condition is characterized by mild, uniform tarnish with a few small and very shallow handling surface blemishes; no damage to its original shape or metallic integrity – ultimately EX+.
