Circa 1960 Detroit Tigers Multi-Signed Ball (w/22 incl. Cochrane, Gehringer)
Out of stock
Common to all of this baseball’s signers is Detroit – most are veterans who once plied their craft in Briggs Stadium while a few others never played for the Tigers, but claimed their roots in Detroit. The ball is a lightly-toned OAL (Harridge) whose only purpose has been to project its 22 autographs. The dynamics of the signings, in relation to the Harridge medium, suggest that this ball dates to about 1960. Regardless, its host of signatures is impressive to include Chet Laabs and Cass Michaels on the sweet spot, followed by Frank Bolling, George Lerchen, Art Houtteman, Irv Bartling, Steve Gromek, Neil Chrisley, Pete Fox, pan style=”font-weight: bold;”>Charlie Gehringer (“pan style=”font-weight: bold;”>9”), Oscar Stanage (the most senior of these who played for Detroit from 1906 to ’25), Dick Wakefield, Bernie Boland (another old one – 1915-20), Clyde Manion, pan style=”font-weight: bold;”>Mickey Cochrane (“pan style=”font-weight: bold;”>8”), Harry Leibold, Pat Mullin, Rocky Colavito, Barney McCoskey, Billy Rogell, Norm Cash and one other.
