Clark Gable Signed Contract – COA PSA/DNAGo Back

Arguably, Clark Gable was the greatest actor of his time. Starring in such films as Gone with the Wind and Mutiny on the Bounty, he became the “King of Hollywood.” Presented is a one page, 8.5″ x 14″, Loew’s Incorporated Contract, December 18, 1941. This document is an amendment agreement between Clark Gable and the film distributor. Gable signed the bottom portion in black felt tip (“9”) at the bottom.
It reads in part, “I appeared in the March of Dimes Collection Appeals trailer which was produced by you. I understand and agree that my services in connection with the same shall not be deemed to have been rendered under my contract with you dated January 25, 1940, as amended and further agreed that said trailer shall not be deemed to be a photoplay under said contract and that no compensation shall be payable to me in connection therewith.”
