Darrell Evans Game-Used, Signed Bat

Darrell Evans was one of the game’s consistent sluggers in the 1970s and ’80s. When he retired after 21 seasons, big Darrell had slugged 414 home runs. He wielded this Worth model WC42 club (35″ and 33.5 ounces) during his final season (1989). Heavy use is exhibited on the bat with heavy hit marks and a moderate layering of pine tar on the handle. Two separate layers of spiral taping have been placed on the handle. “DE 5 WC42” is stamped into the knob and “11 B.P.” is handwritten in felt tip as well suggesting it might have been used exclusively for batting practice. Evans finished off this bat with a signature (“10”) in white paint pen near the trademark.
