Dave Parker Game-Worn, Signed Pirates Cap w/Stargell Stars

Dave Parker had a tall order to fill, replacing the legendary Roberto Clemente in right field for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He filled it admirably, however, as he developed into a dangerous slugger who could hit for both average and power. The Cobra put heavy use into this classic “pill box” style Pirates cap. The outside of the black and yellow bumblebee colored cap has staining caused by what appears to be tobacco residue. The brim showcases a pair of “Stargell Stars”, a tradition started in the Pirates’ championship season of ’79, whereby Willie Stargell handed the awards out to teammates in recognition of various on-field accomplishments. The inside of the cap is lined in yellow mesh, and the sweat band and “New Era” tag are heavily stained. The size tag is worn out and has become unreadable. The ’78 MVP finished off this gem by signing his last name and “# 39” in black felt tip on the underside of the brim (“9”).
