Derek Jeter Game-Used Baseball Bat Signed Yankees – COA Steiner & PSA/DNA
Derek Jeter is royalty among baseball fans and may even be the most popular Yankee since Mickey Mantle. The man never appeared in the police blotter or on the famed Mitchell Report. “Mr. Yankee” used this bat during his big league career (2002-03 era to be specific).
It is a Louisville Slugger (P72) black ash bat. It is uncracked and exhibits evidence of excellent use. There are several ball marks and stitch impressions visible on all sides of the barrel. The ball marks include blue transfers and white leather scuffs. Also present is an impression from a weighted batting donut. There is also a light coating of Mota stick on the handle. It measures in at 34″ and weighs 30.8 oz.
For added value, Jeter signed the barrel and added the inscription “09 Game Used” in silver paint pen. For the autograph, a Steiner sports hologram is affixed for authenticity along with a COA card.
PSA/DNA bats commented that the “2009” notation could have been a mistake on Jeter’s part but use of the bat in 2009 should not totally be dismissed. It is possible the bat was stored in the Yankees equipment room at the old stadium and sent to the new ballpark without it being sent to Spring Training. PSA/DNA Bats graded it a solid GU 8.
