Early 1930s Frank “Lefty” O’Doul Game-Used Bat

Description
With a name like Lefty, it seems logical that he was a left-handed pitcher. In fact, Frank “Lefty” O’Doul bustled through the Pacific Coast League with the San Francisco Seals. But hampered by a sore arm, he re-defined his career, shifting to the outfield, and proved himself a very capable slugger. One of O’Doul’s calls to the Big Leagues came in 1928 with the Giants. Shortly thereafter (next season), he was traded to the Phillies where Chuck Klein became a hitting partner in crime. Next on the map for O’Doul was Brooklyn, from which the era (1932-33) of this Louisville Slugger game-used bat hails. The bat measures 35″ and weighs 32.5 oz. The timber shows excellent-heavy use with hit marks on the barrel. Also to note, the bat has noticeable cracking from which repairs have been made with small nails (tape removed). Also, provided is a letter of authenticity from the bat’s original owner who saved it as a prized possession for several decades.
