Early 1970’s Bob Vogel Game Worn Baltimore Colts Jersey
Out of stock
This massive offensive lineman who protected legendary QB Johnny Unitas was elected to the Pro Bowl in 4 of his 10 NFL seasons. This beautiful royal blue durene jersey was actually first used by Bogel in the late 1960’s. More specifically the ’68 super bowl season as exemplified by the single Sand Knit label, the long sleeves with embedded elbow reinforecements, and the excessively high placement of the back numerals. It’s all here on this one, embedded white/royal/white shoulder shoulder striping tackle twill sewn on numerals in correct font inclusive of the Colts infamous horizontally dominant sleeve numerals “21/2″, 1” rounded durene neck and size 52 girth gefittin an Ohio State lineman. The NOB durene plate with sewn on “VOEL” sits exceedingly high against the neckline because of the 1960’s numeral placement. The font style of the NOB is classic Sand Knit elongatd plain block. The jersey tail sports the single Sand Knit size 52 label which is straight stitch as is apropo. There is semblance of an exclusivity label above the size label. This may have been installed during the 1970-71 season and become disengaged. The jersey shows acceptable wear with a major repair on the upper back right verso. A great representation of Vogel from both the late ’60’s and very early 1970’s.
