Early 1980’s Bill Buckner Game-Worn Cubs Cap

Out of stock

SKU: 23070 Category:

Bill Buckner will always be remembered most for his ground ball “gaff” that cost Boston a World Series championship in 1986. Consequently, the fact that he had an outstanding career is sadly overlooked. During his stint with the Cubs (1977-84), Buckner hit over .300, and took home the batting title in 1980. The superb hitter wore this [size] “7 3/8” cap as a member of the Cubs in the early 1980’s. The piece shows medium wear, as the sweatband is consistently stained. The underside of the brim showcases Buckner’s number “22” in black marker.
