Early ’70s Jim “Catfish” Hunter Game-Worn, Signed A’s Cap
Out of stock
Description
Catfish Hunter was a dependable starter who could help push a team over the top. Just ask the Oakland A’s and New York Yankees. Both clubs were close before Hunter arrived. After Hunter burst onto the scene, each would go on to World Series glory. This size “7 3/8” A’s cap was worn by Hunter between 1968 (his first season in Oakland) and 1970. In ’71, the A’s switched to a yellow bill. The offered cap shows great wear on the inner headband. Sweat stains still appear on the bill. “27” is markered under the bill, and “7 3/8” is written on the inside crown. A New Era tag is sewn in the headband. Hunter signed the bill (“7”) in black felt tip.
