Early ’80s New York Knicks Practice-Used Ball & Player Worn Undershirt
Out of stock
The Knicks were not a powerhouse team in the in the early 1980s. Indeed, during the entire decade the Knicks never advanced past the semifinal round of the playoffs, and in four of those years, they never made the playfoffs at all, including after the 1980 and ’82 season. They lost in the first round of the playoffs in 1981 – to Chicago, two games to none – and in 1983, they were swept in the semifinals round by Philadelphia, 4-0. In the ’84 playoffs, the Knicks were knocked out in the semifinals round in seven games by Boston. The Knicks didn’t make the playoffs after the ’85, ’86, and ’87 seasons. The item is a basketball the Knicks used during the practice sessions in the early ’80s. It carries some marks and abrasions, possibly from all those shots clanging off rims. The item also comes with an undershirt worn during those practices. If those Knicks couldn’t shoot or defend like other teams, presumably they coud at least sweat like them and this is one of the shirts they wore while trying to earn their pay.
