Early ’80s Wayne Gretzky Game-Used, Signed Oilers Hockey Stick

Owning a Wayne Gretzky game-used hockey stick is equivalent to having a Babe Ruth game-used bat or Michael Jordan worn shoes.
This Titan TPM 2020 stick was used by the Great One in the early ’80s according to the research conducted by Spirit of the Game’s Rich Ellis. The use is moderate with black tape secured on the blade and black stick marks throughout. "GRETZKY" is rubber stamped near the handle which identifies it as one of Gretzky’s.
Worth special mention is the blue gauze applied to the handle. According to Ellis’ LOA: "This is Gretzky’s typical gauze handle tape job that would later be the template for his "Jack the Gripper." The stick also has the typical nice patina on the double sided sticky tape on the blade; the patina is caused by Wayne’s use of baby powder that he would apply to the tape."
Gretzky signed the blade in blue marker, the penning rates "6" in strength. Overall, a quality early-career Gretzky stick worthy of the most discriminating collection.
