Eric Karros Game-worn 1990s Dodgers Batting Helmet

First sacker Eric Karros joined a special group in 1992, when he was named National League Rookie of the Year. Karros joined ex-Los Angeles Dodgers Jackie Robinson, Don Newcombe, Frank Howard and Fernando Valenzuela when he was awarded the honor. Indications are that Karros wore this size-“7 1/2” helmet early in his career. In fact, the uncracked Dodger blue headgear was manufactured in January, 1990, so it’s quite possible that it saw action in his remarkable debut season. Small white paint marks appear on the shell, and uniform number “23” is placed on both the front bill and back side. ABC and MLB emblems are visible over another ABC sticker on the verso.
