On offer: Eusébio Game-Used #10 Benfica Away Shirt from the 1968 European Cup Final Match. This jersey was worn by the Portuguese football star legend Eusébio da Silva Ferreira, widely known simply as Eusébio, during the European Cup Final Match against Manchester United on May 29th, 1968 in Wembley Stadium, London. The match ended with Manchester United winning (4-1) after extra time, then lifting their first European Cup title. The European Cup Championship is what is currently known as the UEFA Champions League. Eusébio is considered Benfica’s and the Portugal national team’s most renowned player and one of the first world-class African-born strikers. Nicknamed “Black Panther,” “Black Pearl,” and “o Rei” the King , Eusébio is Benfica’s all-time top goal scorer. He won the Ballon d’Or award for European Footballer of the Year in 1965 and was runner-up in 1962 and 1966. He played for Benfica for 15 years. Upom close inspection you’ll come to find the garment in the following condition: The shirt has a scent of age consistent with garments of this era. Stitching appears to be solid throughout. Light fraying to the number and patches of garment. Normal signs of use and age for a garment from this era. The manufacturer’s Casa Desporto tag has come undone but is photographed in the provenance letter. Very light yellow/green staining appears on the top of the garment; it is unknown whether these stainng are from match or from storage conditions. A small tear and a few holes on the neck from back. Overall, the jersey is in a great condiotion for its age.

2. Garment appears to resemble a modern M/L size, which is appropriate for Eusébio.
3. Garment made of cotton. Soft fabric, medium-weight fabric.
4. Benfica logo patch stitched on the upper left front.
5. Eusébio’s squad #10 in red fabric numbers stitched on the back of the jersey.
6. Portugal’s coat of arms stitched on the left sleeve.
7. Red trim to collar and sleeves ends.

Provenance: The shirt is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from an Argentine collector. According to the letter the shirt originates from the collection of former Argentina National Team and Boca Juniors player Silvio Marzolini. His signed team ID is included in the letter.
An extremely rare and magnificent garment for a great legend Eusébio in one of his most important matches in his career. A nice opportunity to own such a garment. Superb!
