Significant signed souvenir from the first collectors function held in Baltimore, on October 13, 1990; an inaugural event organized by the Negro League Baseball Players Association to honor players and legends from “the other league.” Offered is this original 11 x 17 limited edition poster produced to raise much-needed funds and awareness for the NLBPA. Forty-one veterans of the segregated game appeared and signed that day, and it features rare steady signatures from many players who have since passed away or who are no longer able to sign. Each signature rates an easy 9/10, rendered in felt-tip on stiff poster stock. Includes such luminaries as Leon Day, Bill Wright, Jimmie Crutchfield, Bob Harvey, George Giles, John Miles, Quincy Trouppe, Bill Byrd, Marlin Carter, Wilmer Fields, Monte Irvin, Buck Leonard, Max Manning, Piper Davis, Nap Gulley, Double Duty Radcliffe, Pat Patterson, Verdell Mathis, Josh Johnson, Clyde McNeal, Wily Briggs, Mahlon Duckett, Stanley Glenn, Elmer Knox, Max Tranning, Piper Davis, Lester Lockett, Frank Evans, Gene Benson, Bubba Hyde, Jim Cohen, Bob Thurman, Willie Pope, Lyman Bostock Sr., Garnett E. Blair, Freddie Shepard, Armand Vasquez, and more. NM/MT overall.
