The atmosphere on the Strip was electric in Las Vegas with the energy spilling onto the sidewalk before the battle. It was one of the most anticipated boxing events in the history of sports and billed as “The Fight of the Century”. This of course was the Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena (Las Vegas) on May 2, 2005. Entering the battle, Mayweather was a five-division world champion and Manny Pacquiao netted eight-division world championships in his career. Mayweather won the contest unanimously with the judges scoring it 116-112 and 118-110 respectively.
Presented is the actual shirt the Manny Pacquiao wore on the way out to the ring for the Mayweather battle. Pacquiao signed (with inscription PacMan) his Nike Dri-Fit shirt [size L] which features his large “MP” fight logo with “JESUS IS THE NAME OF THE LORD” on the front. He also added in black felt tip the details of what it was worn for, “THIS THE SHIRT I WORE FOR THE FIGHT OF THE CENTURY AGAINST FLOYD MAYWEATHER.” The back shows “TEAM PACQUIAO – ALL GLORY AND HONOR BELONGS TO GOD.”
The collection includes a letter from Pacquiao which is autographed and features a photo match from the battle.
