Description

The nickname “Hammerin’ Hank” was given to Detroit baseball star Hank Greenberg a couple decades before Henry Aaron became “Hammerin’ Hank”. Greenberg was a power hitting first baseman who played his entire career in the American League for the Tigers from 1930 through 1947. He was a five time All Star, two time AL MVP, and entered the Hall of Fame in 1956. One of his most amazing feats was his 58 home runs in the 1938 season, which was the most by any player since Babe Ruth hit 60 eleven years earlier; no one would top that total until 1961 when Roger Maris smacked 61 dingers.

Presented is a 8×10 black and white photo autographed by Hank Greenberg. He signed it in black felt tip (“9″). The display measures 12″ x 14.5”.

Authentication: JSA Basic Cert & Sticker
