Description
Presented is a pink parchment page (4.5×5.75) from an autographed album that was autographed by two celebrities, Hoagy Carmichael and Charles Boyer. Both signed it (front/back) in black pen with Carmichael adding the personalization, “To Joyce”.
“Hoagy” Carmichael was an American composer, pianist, singer, actor, and bandleader. American composer and author Alec Wilder described Carmichael as the “most talented, inventive, sophisticated and jazz-oriented of all the great craftsmen” of pop songs in the first half of the twentieth century.
Charles Boyer was a French actor who appeared in more than 80 films between 1920 and 1976. After receiving an education in drama, Boyer started on the stage, but he found his success in American films during the 1930s. His memorable performances were among the era’s most highly praised, in romantic dramas such as The Garden Allah (1936), Algier (1938) and Love Affair (1939) as well as the mystery-thriller Gaslight (1944).
