Presented is a collage in a display (25×37) related to the participants and ultimate capture of the infamous Bonnie & Clyde. Clyde Barrow and his girlfriend Bonnie Parker, an inseparable, love-struck couple who—partnered at times with the Barrow brothers and others—were robbing and murdering their way across a half dozen or so states.
Edgar Hoover was the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from 1924 until his death in 1972. His legacy is no doubt a controversial one, as he’s been accused of having links to the mafia, as well as gathering information for blackmail purposes. He was the director of the F.B.I. during the hunt for Bonnie & Clyde. Offered here is a letter typed and signed by Hoover on his personal FBI stationery. Dated January 1, 1937, the content related to giving information to the Boy Scouts.
Included in the collage, is an original 1934 Bonnie & Clyde Wanted poster from the division of investigation in the Department of Justice as well as a rare handbill from a post-death exhibit. Lastly included are signatures on parchment of Captain Frank Hamner and B.M. Gault. They were the c0-killers of the deadly duo. The cut was encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA.
