J.R. Richard Game-Worn, Signed Astros Cap

At 6’8″, pitcher J.R. Richard was an imposing figure on the mound. With a fastball clocked as high as 100 mph, he twice struck out over 300 batters in a season. This cap was worn by Richard during his career with Houston. The piece is a rare, orange-style Astros cap that is highly popular with collectors. Tremendous use is exhibited, as the button on the top interior has rusted from briny sweat. The size tag has been worn to the point that it is unreadable. Sweat stains cover the entire inside of the cap, as well as on the visor. The underside of the visor showcases Richard’s signature and number “50” in black felt tip (“8”).
