Description

Through a relatively short career during the ’30s, Jimmy “Ripper” Collins quietly but effectively fulfilled duties at first base with the Gashouse Gang. That team, epicentered at 1934, was fundamentally a roster of unbridled extroverts. Equal, though, to the professional task assigned to him, Collins was a major cog in this smooth machinery – ultimately claiming a .286 lifetime average. In retirement (likely in the mid-1950s), he signed this  Wilson baseball. The medium is about EX with uniform, but light, soiling and moderately obscured stamping. The sweet spot signature is  signed in blue ball-point pen however, is an impeccable “9-10” in every respect.
