As a Dodger, Jay Johnstone hit a pinch-hit, two-run home run in Game Four of the 1981 World Series, against the New York Yankees (the home run rallying the Dodgers from a 6–3 deficit to win 8–7). The victory also enabled the Dodgers to tie the Series at two games each; Los Angeles won the next two games, to win it all. Johnstone played for the Dodgers from 1980-82 and 1985.
Presented is one of Jay Johnstone’s Los Angeles Dodgers game worn home white jerseys from his first stint with the Dodgers (1980-82 era). It features “DODGERS” across the chest in custom blue, and his number “21” on back, all in blue tackle twill. His number #21 is on the front in red tackle twill. The collar of the jersey features a “Goodman & Sons” size 44 manufacturer’s tag. The jersey shows quality overall game use. Also, note the jersey shows his name removed on the verso as well as some wear and discoloration from previous display.
Also included is an autographed color 8×10 photo. Johnstone signed it in blue felt tip (“9”) with the inscription, “’81 W.S. Champs.”
