Description

On January 23, 2016, Jimmy Bain died while in his cabin on Def Leppard’s “Hysteria on the High Seas” cruise. He was due to perform on the cruise with his group Last In Line the following day. The performance did not go ahead, and band members informed fans on the cruise that he had been battling pneumonia for some time. The cause of death was determined to be lung cancer. Bain had not been diagnosed with cancer and was only aware of his pneumonia.

“We had four rehearsals four hours a day, then a flight to Miami for the DEF LEPPARD rock cruise. A pre-sail gig and soundcheck was scheduled for the following day. At the gig, Jimmy played great and even sang that night while holding a heavy bass guitar on his back, never complaining or asking for help. Next day, we preceded to board the cruise ship for a five-day voyage of which we were scheduled to play Sunday, the fourth day. That gig never happened, as Jimmy passed away in his cabin the night before. We were devastated.”

This is his personal leather coat worn in his FINAL performance on the Def Leppard cruise ship.  Bain had this black leather coat with him and was using at the time of his death.  The reason we know this is that after his death, all his items were returned to his life long girlfriend from the cruise ship.  Pictured is the Fed Ex slip that she kept from the box that was delivered from the Cruise ship.   Now offered is his personal leather coat that was with him at his death.  Featured in our Image Gallery you will see the photomatch of Jimmy Bain’s on stage wearing this black leather coat.
