Jimmy Hoffa Signature Cut
Out of stock
Rare full signature from the sixties’ premier labor boss, political heavyweight and arguably, the world’s most famous missing person, who disappeared without a trace amidst rampant speculation of mob ties and deals gone bad. Jimmy Hoffa ruled the Teamsters Union and its powerful pension funds with an iron fist from 1957 to 1971, and in 1975, while trying to regain power, he vanished from a restaurant parking lot in Bloomfield Hills. Widely assumed to have been killed by the Mafia, his body was never found, and in 1983 he was declared legally dead. Offered is Hoffa’s rare full autograph as inked on the back of a white matchpack, originating from a notable collection of the era which solicited signatures from the famous and infamous via this medium. The book was carefully dismantled and flattened, providing an ideal palette (NM) to accept the autograph. Identified on the outer cover is “James A. Hoffa” (forgiving the admirer for typing “A” instead of “R”) as well as “General President – Teamesters [sic] Union.” The signature is penned above in black ballpoint, “James R. Hoffa”, and rates “9” in quality (with only slight mussing). On the reverse there appears a written request to Hoffa for the signature.
