Description
Johnny Podres was named the Most Valuable Player of the 1955 World Series, pitching a shutout in Game 7 against the New York Yankees to help the Brooklyn Dodgers win their only World Series title before the team moved to Los Angeles after the 1957 season. He led the National League in earned run average and shutouts in 1957, and in winning percentage in 1961. He was of Lithuanian-Polish descent.
Presented is an ONL (White) baseball autographed by Johnny Podres. He signed it on the sweet spot in blue ballpoint pen (“9”). The ball itself shows toning from age.
