June Allyson Screen-Worn Dress Too Young to Kiss

June Allyson was an American stage, film, and television actress, dancer, and singer. Allyson began her career in 1937 as a dancer in short subject films and on Broadway in 1938. She signed with MGM in 1943 and rose to fame the following year in Two Girls and a Sailor. Allyson’s “girl next door” image was solidified during the mid-1940s when she was paired with actor Van Johnson in six films. In 1951, she won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her performance in Too Young to Kiss.

Too Young to Kiss (also All Too Young) is a 1951 American comedy film from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer starring Van Johnson and June Allyson. The film, in which the 34-year-old Allyson’s Cynthia Potter masquerades as a 14-year-old child prodigy, is directed by Robert Z. Leonard.

Presented is a beautiful screen-worn blue velvet short sleeve dress with a white laced collar, size small in size, it measures 34″ top to bottom and 13″ from pit-to-pit, sleeve length 3″. sewen on the inside of the dress on the zipper seam is a screen prop ID (1514 – 8242 June Allyson). Included is an 8″ X 11″ black and white picture of June Allyson and Van Johnson her co-star in the movie, she is wearing the dress in the photo. In worn condition.
