Larry Wilson Early-Mid 1960s St. Louis Cardinals Durene Warm-Up Jacket
Out of stock
This durene sideline jacket was worn by Hall of Fame safety, Larry Wilson, during his mid-career with the St. Louis Football Cardinals. One thing is for sure – Wilson rarely missed a game despite fractures, stitches, bumps and bruises, so the only time he would have worn this jacket was when the Cardinal offense was on the field. The jacket body is made of highly sheened, deep burgundy durene in its entirety. The collar, sleeve cuffs, and waistband are made of identically colored stretch-ribbed cotton. The seven-button front is also color coordinated. The left chest sports a white canvas shield patch with the Cardinals logo, Swiss embroidered within the red border. The jacket’s verso boasts a nine-inch, full-block, tackle-twill “8” – seldom seen is an NFL sideline jacket with such a bold numeric identifier. A Wilson label, with a size “48” flag tag, appears in the collar. Though used on the sidelines, this jacket was also worn by the club’s players without pads during pre-game warm-ups. Rare and in wonderful condition, it was sourced from personal friend. Available to be proudly worn or displayed, with Wilson’s “8” on the back speaking volumes.
