Late ’60s/Early ’70s Don Maynard Game-Worn, Signed Puma Cleats, From Don Maynard Collection w/Letter
Out of stock
Don Maynard started his illustrious pro career wearing black Riddell sport builts for the New York Giants. He continued to wear this traditional low cut black leather football shoe until the the late ’60s, when he switched to very light-weight Puma soccer style leather shoes.
Like his trend-setting quarterback counterpart, Joe “Willie” Namath, Maynard favored “white shoes”, novel at the time, with green soccer soles and a green Puma wing.
This pair appears to have season-long wear as the green leather wings are well scuffed and the white outer leather has embedded dirt, no doubt in part to Shea’s skin infield, which used to grace the red zone. The laces are intact and an added hidden feature is Maynard’s #13 markered in green on the inner heels. As far as footwear goes, they don’t get any better. Autographed by Maynard, these kicks come with Don Maynard’s personal letter of authenticity.
