Late ’80s New York Giants #12 Game-Worn Helmet

The New York Giants are a proud and successful franchise. Their most recent run only adds luster to the franchise. Their game-worn relics are held near and dear to New Yorkers nationwide.

This helmet was worn by #12 as evidenced by the circle dot identifier on the rear of the shell. Because there is a 1989 recondition sticker on the inside and ’89 facemask clips and facemask, it is our guess it was used before the regular season began. Jess Atkinson wore the number in 1985, and Mark Jackson assumed it in 1995, no roster player in between.

Decent use is exhibited with at least four gouges on the 1988 size "medium" navy blue shell. Giants’ print logo stickers highlight the sides and a red stripe races down the center. A gold on clear warning sticker is affixed on back above the bumper. The bumper has not been covered with blank vinyl, further suggesting camp usage only.

An inventory number (2111R4) is administered in white paint above the inner early hole. VSR-1 padding is located on the inside and the original double low hookup chinstrap remains.
