Description

Atlantic Records: Led Zeppelin Platinum Record debut release presented to Phil Spector:
This album was recorded over a short 10 day period in the fall of 1968 and released in early Record 1969. Phil Spector surrendered some much-coveted studio time he had booked at Olympic Studios in London to his good friend Glyn Johns who begged him for the favor. As a gift in 1970, Peter Grant, who founded the studio sessions for a whopping $1,800 it took to complete the debut Led Zeppelin release, gifted Phil this platinum record in the double matted, box-framed style that was the standard in the pre R.I.A.A. era, which was established in 1975. The album was recorded on 2-inch tape, reel to reel on 16 tracks. The plaque reads “Presented to Phil Spector, To commemorate the sale of more than 1,000,000 copies of the record.
