Inscribed “Mel Stottlemyer 1st Mets Jacket” on the front of the jacket, serves as provenance and dating the jacket to the 1983 season.
The size “L” is appropriate for player. Number “48” is sewn on the sleeve of the jacket. “Stottlemyer” was known to wear “30” however, between the years of 1981-84 the number “30” was being used by Mike Torrez. “48” was not being used by any player and was therefore issued to Stottlemyre.
Starter Tag sewn in collar with Flap Tag sewn into inseam of jacket.
