Description
At Yankee Stadium on September 18, 1965, there was a ceremony honoring Mickey Mantle, it was about an hour before a scheduled game at 1:00 with the Detroit Tigers. Famed announcer, Red Barber was master of ceremonies. Along with Mantle on the field, that day, were his wife, Merlyn, and his eldest son, Mickey, Jr. with three other sons watching from home. Among attending VIPs that day was U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy (D-NY) and Mrs. Lou Gehrig.
This unique 8×10 photo of Mickey Mantle is from that special “Mickey Mantle Day” and he is on the field with Bobby Kennedy and Mrs. Lou Gehrig. It was signed by Mantle in a blue felt tip (“9″). The matted photo display overall measures 13.5″ x 15.5”.
