Description
Milton “Mickey” Rivers is an American former baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball from 1970 to 1984 for the California Angels, New York Yankees, and Texas Rangers. “Mick The Quick” was generally known as a speedy leadoff hitter who made contact and was an excellent center fielder, with a below-average throwing arm. The 1978 World Series matched the defending champion New York Yankees against the Los Angeles Dodgers in a rematch of the 1977 Series, with the Yankees winning in six games to repeat as champions. 1978 was the first of ten consecutive years that saw ten different teams win the World Series, a string unprecedented in Major League Baseball history.
Presented is an OAL (Budig) baseball autographed by Mickey Rivers. He signed it on the sweet spot in a blue ballpoint pen (“9”) and he also inscribed the number (1977 & 78 W.S. Champs). The ball itself shows toning from age.
