Mid 1970s Johnny Bench Game-Used Bat (PSA GU 7)

If Johnny Bench isn’t the greatest catcher in baseball history, then the former Red is on a short list of two or three. The central force of the Big Red Machine used this Louisville Slugger B278 model during the mid 1970s. The 35 1/4″, 31.2 oz. bat has a crack (secured by tape) and heavy pine tar on the upper handle. Johnny put plenty of use on this with hit and transfer (black) marks on the barrel. Number “5” is marked in red felt tip on the knob and cupped portion of the barrel. Bench signed the bat in blue felt tip (“10”) on the barrel. PSA/DNA Bats awarded this one trong>GU 7.
