Mid-1980’s Game-Worn Phillies Batting Helmet

While we can’t confirm who wore this mid 1980’s Phillies helmet, it does feature “24” in black felt tip under the bill. Tony Perez wore “24” in 1983 and Curt Flood in 1989. One thing is certain, the [size] “7 3/8″ helmet was worn by a right handed batter, given it has a left ear flap. There is no manufacture wheel so the date this helmet was conceived is unknown. The helmet’s big league career came to an end when a 2 1/2” inch crack was rendered to the left ear flap. An ABC decal is placed on the back of the shell, and the inner leather headband is intact.
