Mid 1980s Robin Yount Game-Used, Signed Fielder’s Glove
Out of stock
Description
The first player to gain entry in the Hall of Fame who played solely for the Brewers had a transformation in 1984 after suffering a debilitating shoulder injury. And Robin Yount, the 1982 MVP, was forced to go to the outfield. He flourished as a centerfielder and copped another MVP award in 1989. This Rawlings HOH-50DC glove was among the first that he used when he shifted positions for the ’85 season. The 13″ glove, made with soft deerskin lining, features a single-post triple T-bar web with “x” lacing throughout. Great game use is exhibited with mild oiling on the inside pocket. Rawlings’ red tag is affixed to the wrist strap with “19” penned in black felt tip, and “YOUNT” is written on the back ring finger. In blue felt tip, Yount added his autograph (“8”) on the back middle finger. This glove was sourced from former major leaguer, Tim Johnson. According to an LOA from an attorney who purchased the glove, Johnson was the godfather to one of Yount’s children. Glove authenticator Denny Esken has validated the glove. A truly remarkable mitt which still may have some circus catches left in it.
