Mid 90s Willie McGee Game-Worn Cardinals Helmet

When Willie McGee wound down his career, he decided to do so in the same city where it began. St. Louis has long been considered one of the best places to play baseball. The fans share a love affair with their team and always enjoyed McGee’s effortless skill. This size “7 1/4” helmet was worn by McGee during his second stint with the team. According to the ABC manufacturer’s wheel, the helmet was made in May of 1996 so McGee could have used in later in the ’96 campaign or during his final three seasons. Great wear is apparent with pine tar and black scuff marks on the red outer shell. “51” identification decals are placed on the bill and verso. MLB and ABC stickers are both affixed on the back. “7 1/4 98” is written in black marker on the inner shell suggesting it was used by McGee in the ’98 season.
