Muhammad Ali’s victory over Sonny Liston in 1964 put him at the top of the boxing world with the heavyweight title. He had the title until 1967 and is still regarded as the greatest heavyweight champion of all time.

Presented are a pair of training worn Muhammad Ali trunks. They come with outstanding provenance and were worn by Ali late in his career. They have a red waistband, two red stripes on the legs and the prominent “MacGregor”  label on the front of the waistband.  They supplied Ali’s trunks for his final bouts after a career-long association with Everlast. They are [size] XL. It should be noted, soiling is visible on the backside as well as some residue from previous display. It also has two pieces of black velcro affixed inside the waistband.

The shorts were signed on the right leg in black marker by Ali’s longtime cornerman, Angelo Dundee, who added as part of the authentication, “Worn By The Greatest Ali.” In addition, a vintage Muhammad Ali signature in black felt tip adorns the left leg along with a sketch of a boxing ring done by Ali. Overall, the strong provenance via Dundee himself on the item carries this piece into only the best-of-the-best of collections.
