Muhammad Ali vs Jerry Quarry Fight Poster On-SiteGo Back
Out of stock
Nine months after political pressures related to his boycott of the Vietnam draft forced Ali to vacate his Heavyweight Championship, the controversial superstar announced that he had signed to fight Jerry Quarry in Georgia, which had no state commission. At the time, Ali’s conviction for draft evasion was on appeal to the Supreme Court. The bout took place a month and a half after Ali’s announcement, and despite the tremendous personal stress of a threat of long imprisonment, the former Champ worked his old magic, stopping Quarry in the third round at Atlanta’s Municipal Auditorium.
Legendary sports artist LeRoy Neiman provides the artwork for this on-site 14″ x 22″ fight poster, which exhibits some aging (discoloration) along the edges. But overall the aesthetic is dandy in a display which measures overall 22.5″ x 34.5″.
Please note, all displays are sold as is without warranty to the condition of the display.
